The Torch Has Been Passed to A New Generation of Chinese.

In the morning of May 7th, the relay of the fire torch started in Guangzhou, China.

Thousands of hundreds of people got together along the roads that the fire will pass by. In Tianhe, one of the most prosperous part of Guangzhou, young boys and girls who waved the national flags with the logo of Beijing Olympic Games drawn on the face, experienced the passion and heat even before the torch had arrived. Cars and buses had to stop because that a great number of excited people had to stand out side of the pavement. It was an ocean of red flag.

It was those young people, who were called as 'after 80's', that made up the great force of protest against the false report and fought against the split plot. It was those young people that made their voice loud all around world. It was those young people, showing the power of the united Chinese people, that changed the view upon China today.At that moment they are totally immersed into the happiness of the pageant, brought by the Olympic Games.

Compared with some unlucky people of western country, who were deceived by their media, which hearts were filled with indignation only, they were far more happier. They enjoyed the freedom of sense, proud of the nation, and more.

There was no necessity to argue on what the truth was. The only truth is, everybody can enjoy the Games, which was born with the mission of bringing peace to human beings. I am glad that I am one of the people enjoying the peace, mentally and physically.

We are those people, the new generation of Chinese. Today, we have the glory to take charge of the Games and we know we will do more in the future. We laughed at those people accusing us of being employed by the government to organize all the demonstration activity. Ironically, when I was about to write this article, i had to consider how many of them are able to read Chinese characters.

" We dare not forget today that we are the heirs of that first revolution. Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, " that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Chinese. Born in the last century, educated globally, disciplined by the sharp and bitter domestic competition, proud of our long history and tradition, we will now endeavor to make the prosperous and mighty China recur. Let every nation know, whether it wished us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, to achieved our common goal.

We observe today not a victory of opposition but a celebration of development, symbolizing an end as well as a beginning. We will have new vision of ourselves, new opinion on the world. We offer not a pledge but a request that both sides begin anew to understand each other.

We are ready!
